Gregory Barasia is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Cedar Cliff Capital. Prior to launching the fund, he held investment roles at global institutions including Mubadala Investment Company, Emirates Investment Authority and New Vernon Capital. Over the course of his career, he has led the development and execution of macroeconomic investment strategies across a broad range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, commodities and currencies in both developed and emerging markets. He brings deep expertise in economic forecasting, portfolio construction and multi-asset allocation, with a focus on generating non-correlated returns through dynamic, data-driven investment processes.

Barasia holds an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree from New York University, which he completed in three years. He is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder and a member of American Mensa. His professional background reflects a combination of institutional discipline, global perspective and a strong quantitative foundation applied to macroeconomic investing.

Gary Brode is a 30-year hedge fund veteran and the head of Deep Knowledge Investing. Prior to his current position, he was Managing Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager for Silver Arrow Investment Management, a concentrated long-only hedge fund with options-based hedging where the long return on invested capital beat the S&P 500 by almost 100% over eight years. Deep Knowledge Investing works with hedge fund managers, portfolio managers, family offices and high net worth individuals to earn higher returns in the equity portion of their portfolios. DKI provides conflict- free, well-researched stock ideas, and timely market commentary and has produced more stock picks that have appreciated by 100% or more than it has losing positions.

Jeff Lignelli is the CEO and a portfolio manager Incline Global Management, which he launched in 2012. Prior to that, he was a senior partner at Appaloosa Management, and before that the CEO and portfolio manager of Stonebrook Fund Management. Other roles he has held include being a partner on the investment staff of Omega Advisors; a vice president at Atticus Capital; and an M&A associate at Gleacher & Co. He holds a B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jennifer Ralph Oppold founded Alpine Peaks Capital in 2017 after spending a decade at Select Equity Group, a fundamentally focused investment manager. She is the portfolio manager at Alpine Peaks, which offers an equity long/short strategy and a long only strategy. Both make concentrated, long-duration investments in high quality small and mid-cap companies. Jennifer holds a bachelor of arts from Princeton University, where she graduated cum laude. Jennifer began her career with McKinsey & Company, advising multi-national corporations on strategy and operational efficiencies. She attended Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School, from which she earned her MBA and JD cum laude.  She is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and now lives in New York City with her husband and three children.

Susan Webb, Founder, CEO, and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Appomattox, leads the investment committee and sets the firms’ overall asset allocation including strategic implementation of its macro view. Susan overseas the investment and portfolio management professionals responsible for manager selection, asset allocation, proactive measures to manage portfolio risks and returns, and liquidity. She is also the vice president of the Manhattan Alternative Investment Network.

Susan’s career in finance spans over 35 years, featuring hands-on derivatives trading, financing and structuring. Prior to founding Appomattox in 2005, Susan served as Managing Director of the fund of hedge funds Atlas Capital where she launched the seeding platform. She previously held senior positions on the trading desks of Citibank, Paribas Capital Markets and CIBC. She served as a managing director at Caisse des Depots, where she established the U.S. credit derivative and synthetic CLO and hedge fund structuring business.

Susan serves on the board of GTI Capital Group (focused on investments in India), advisory board of Catalyst Financial Partners (promotes small and emerging managers), and Advisory Committee of Saxena White’s Women’s Alliance. She is a trustee and member of the investment committee of Brick Presbyterian Church in New York. Susan earned a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School.
